Blitz Poker
The game of Blitz is a fairly straightforward card game where players are tasked with drawing and discarding cards to make the highest valued hand in the same suit as the table. As soon as a player feels his hand is the highest, he may choose to knock. The game stops and all the players reveal their hands.

Blitz Poker will be available on Android and iOS mobile devices at launch, with desktop computer users expected to join the fray within a few months. The game will be spread at a variety of stake levels on No Limit Hold’em cash game tables that seat a maximum of six players.
Fast Fold Revolution
Fast fold online poker has been around since 2010 when Full Tilt rolled out the concept under the name of Rush Poker. In subsequent years, other poker rooms developed software that mimicked the format, calling the game a variety of names that include Zoom Poker, Fast Forward, Boost and Speed Poker.
Whatever name is used, the concept is basically the same. A pool of players compete within the same framework and stakes, and can immediately fold if their starting hands are deemed to be unplayable. Instead of waiting for the hand to play out, fast folders are instantaneously whisked to another table among the same pool of players – where action on the next hand begins quickly.
A rinse and repeat process continues, accelerating the action and removing some of the boredom involved in standard poker games that consists of waiting for other players to act. It’s been estimated that each player can see hands at a rate four times greater in fast fold poker than your typical run of the mill 6-handed No Limit Hold’em game of poker.
Blitz to the Top of Leaderboard
Another bonus for Blitz Poker players is that the fast fold games will also count toward points in the popular The Beast rake race. Blitz Poker may certainly have an effect on that free weekly leaderboard contest that pays mega cash prizes and has doled out millions of dollars since its inception.
There is speculation that Blitz Poker may be available in multi-table tournaments sometime down the road. However, the first order of business is to gauge the reaction of ACR players at the cash game Blitz Poker tables, and perhaps listen to player feedback with regard to any adjustments or modifications that may be needed.
Zoned for Speed
Players in most states within the US, of course, are accepted at Americas Cardroom and its partner sites on the Winning Poker Network such as Black Chip Poker and True Poker. US players may already be familiar with fast fold poker at the likes of Ignition Poker and Bovada on the PaiWangLuo Network where the game is known as Zone Poker.
The roll out of Blitz Poker via mobile devices at Americas Cardroom will certainly be welcomed by players who enjoy a more fast-paced approach to the game. Waiting around for hands to play out has always been a sore spot to critics of the game of poker. Those same critics no longer have an argument with fast fold poker action such as Blitz Poker.
